Danish Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen is set to depart from Haas at the end of the 2024 season. The 31-year-old has spent quite a few years with the team since 2017 (stop gap of two years), becoming their longest-serving driver ever.

Kevin Magnussen endured a shaky start to this season, scoring just five points in 12 races. He has also been penalized several times, with 10 penalty points to his name. The Danish driver now faces uncertainty regarding his future on the grid.

On the other hand, Alpine F1 racer, Esteban Ocon has been rumored to take the place of the 31-year-old next season at Haas. Ocon earlier announced that he would also be parting ways with Alpine at the end of this year. The Frenchman’s decision to leave the team comes after his controversial crash at Monaco for which he received major backlash.

I’m blessed to have raced for such a great team of people. In particular, I’d like to thank Gene Haas for his commitment to me, notably in bringing me back to Formula 1 in 2022. Racing has always been, and will always be, a part of who I am. I’m a racer to the very core of my soul, and I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has been a part of my Formula 1 career thus far.

Komatsu has thanked Magnussen for his run with the team while looking forward to ending his chapter on a high. Magnussen put on an exemplary performance at the Miami GP, which enabled Haas to score their first points this season.

The 31-year-old’s talent is not alien to the other teams on the grid, who will be eyeing the Danish keenly for 2025. The upcoming weeks are key as far as Magnussen’s future at the pinnacle of motor racing is concerned.
