Amidst the preparations, Christian Horner revealed a shocking fact about Hadjar’s speed against his teammate Yuki Tsunoda.

Yuki Tsunoda was also considered for a move up to Red Bull for the 2025 season but was snubbed after Liam Lawson‘s availability. However, Tsunoda will have the massive task of bringing the rookie Isack Hadjar up to speed in the coming season. Following Hadjar’s confirmation, the team conducted multiple private tests, wherein the 20-year-old lodged some astonishing results.

Isack Hadjar needs ‘polishing’ before Formula 1 debut

Isack Hadjar was the runner-up for the Formula 2 championship in the 2024 season and missed out on the win due to technical glitches. Regardless, the 20-year-old has put forth some impressive results on the circuit. As a result, Christian Horner labeled Hadjar as a ‘raw talent’ and accepted that the latter needed some more polishing before debuting in the pinnacle of motorsport.

He’s definitely a raw talent — he needs a little bit of polishing, but he has the speed. He was unfortunate in Formula 2 to miss out [on the title] at the last race due to technical glitches with start-line software, from what I understand, but he’s impressed as well. Particularly with his speed. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Regardless, the two young drivers in the lineup have showcased great pace and put forth a positive situation for the team. Hence, the 2025 season will be extremely interesting to witness especially due to multiple rookies entering the grid.
