Yuki Tsunoda was also considered for a move up to Red Bull for the 2025 season but was snubbed after Liam Lawson‘s availability. Following Hadjar’s confirmation, the team conducted multiple private tests, wherein the 20-year-old lodged some astonishing results.
Christian Horner applauded Hadjar for being another Red Bull academy talent. The 50-year-old revealed that the French-Algerian driver was faster than his Japanese counterpart during the tests. Horner reckoned that these results from the 20-year-old turned a lot of heads in the team.
Isack Hadjar needs ‘polishing’ before Formula 1 debut
Isack Hadjar was the runner-up for the Formula 2 championship in the 2024 season and missed out on the win due to technical glitches. Regardless, the 20-year-old has put forth some impressive results on the circuit. As a result, Christian Horner labeled Hadjar as a ‘raw talent’ and accepted that the latter needed some more polishing before debuting in the pinnacle of motorsport.
RB had a rollercoaster of an outing in the 2024 season due to the massive changes mid-season. Regardless, the two young drivers in the lineup have showcased great pace and put forth a positive situation for the team. Hence, the 2025 season will be extremely interesting to witness especially due to multiple rookies entering the grid.
