Aston Martin was expected to start the 2024 season off in a similar fashion to the previous season’s beginning. However, the Silverstone-based constructor has been unable to deliver performance ever since the beginning of this season. Hence, the team’s principal Mike Krack pointed out Lawrence Stroll‘s thoughts regarding the trying times in recent.

Lawrence Stroll hasn’t addressed the public much regarding the recent struggles of Aston Martin. However, Team principal Mike Krack believed that people’s perception of the team being under ‘huge pressure’ wasn’t incorrect.

The upgrade package in Imola was unable to fetch any great results for the team. Regardless, Stroll hoped to solve the issues as quickly as possible to sustain a better end to the season.

I think the perception from outside is not wrong or erroneous. The perception inside is huge pressure because [the Imola upgrade] doesn't deliver what you were expected to deliver and trying to solve this as quick as possible [is now the aim] and in that point, I understand also that there is less patience.
Mike Krack told motorsport.com

However, despite the difficult times, Krack reassured that the team’s owner was aware of the way it worked. Stroll had been in this business for long and hence was patient over the entire struggles. Additionally, Krack pointed out that upgrading parts took time which was understood well by the Canadian businessman.

Now, Lawrence has been in this business for long. He is very knowledgeable of how Formula 1 works, he knows also that if you have something that didn't work until you have something better, it takes time – to make new parts, to make this to make that.

Mike Krack claims Aston Martin ‘doesn’t like to be’ in such a situation in the 2024 season

The reasons behind Aston Martin’s downfall in the 2024 season are not clear yet as the team lost out on major pace and performance. Krack accepted the fact that this situation wasn’t ideal for Aston Martin. Additionally, Lance Stroll has continued to fail at performing well since the beginning of the season after a mediocre chassis performance.

So, I think it's a mix between the two. It is a situation that we would not like to be in.

However, Lawrence Stroll continues to embark on the journey to make the team more capable. The Canadian businessman recently landed a deal with Honda for power units from 2026 and is currently eyeing Adrian Newey‘s entry to Silverstone. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising to witness a mid-season comeback from Aston Martin.
