Red Bull junior Liam Lawson has been waiting on the sidelines since filling in for Daniel Ricciardo last year. The Kiwi driver hopes to get a full-time race seat for 2025. However, Red Bull Motorsport Consultant Dr. Helmut Marko has asserted that Milton Keynes will allow him to get experience elsewhere on the grid.

Rumors have emerged that Williams might consider to replace Logan Sargeant from the next round itself. Liam Lawson is believed to be the prime candidate to replace the American driver after the latter’s massive crash during Dutch GP free practice.

Helmut Marko claimed that if there was an opportunity for Lawson to gain experience with a seat this season, Red Bull will not stand in his way. As such, Liam Lawson seems to have the go-ahead if he does get a call-up to take over Sargeant’s seat for the remainder of the season.

If it's good for a young driver, and he can gain some race experience, we wouldn't stand in the way.

Christian Horner ‘open’ to let Liam Lawson race for Williams

Team boss Christian Horner highlighted that if Lawson does race for Williams, it needs to be on agreed upon terms which could Red Bull to call him back if necessary. Nevertheless, Horner stated that he was open to Liam Lawson joining Williams next weekend if the Grove-based team wants him to take Sargeant’s seat.

It depends on which terms and if we needed him back that we could have him back quite quickly. But we'd certainly... if they needed a driver next weekend, we'd be open to that.

Certainly, Liam Lawson would benefit from a brief stint at Williams. The Kiwi driver could make a firm case for a full-time seat if he lives up to expectations. However, Williams is yet to make a call on sacking Sargeant for the upcoming Italian GP.
