Logan Sargeant was promoted by Williams to its F1 team in 2023. The 23-year-old became the first American driver to race at the pinnacle of motorsport for the better half of a decade. Unfortunately, Sargeant failed to live up to expectations and was sacked after the Dutch GP.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri shared his thoughts over Williams’ call to replace Sargeant. The Australian driver admitted that it was a shame to see Logan Sargeant get ousted before the end of the season. Piastri insisted that the American driver didn’t get to show what he was truly capable of, during his time at the Grove-based team.

Just a shame, for whatever reason he [Logan Sargeant] wasn’t able to show everything he’s got.

I sent him a text [on the build up to Monza], and he seems OK. It was a little bit of a shock, obviously it wasn’t an easy time for him in F1.
