Former Colombian racer Juan Pablo Montoya has criticized Visa Cash App RB driver Liam Lawson for his performances. Lawson has been battling Red Bull’s Sergio Perez over the course of the past few races in Formula 1.
Liam Lawson made his full-time debut at the United States Grand Prix, replacing Daniel Ricciardo for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old was involved in a heated tussle with Sergio Perez at the Mexican GP, where the former finished P16. Lawson’s intentions have since been scrutinized by many.
Juan Pablo Montoya has said that the 22-year-old did nothing but steal points from his parent team’s side. He nevertheless stated that the New Zealand driver has a point to prove against Perez on track.
Perez, who has a contract with Red Bull until the end of 2026, has been massively inconsistent this season. Reports claim that the Mexican might be sacked before the start of the upcoming season.

Perez’s struggles have been prevalent since the start of the 2023 season. His last win was in Azerbaijan last year, following which he has secured 10 podiums. While some of his issues might be the fault of Red Bull’s machinery, the others can solely be traced to his inability on track.
