The Kick Sauber F1 team (Audi) has been on a horrendous run during the 2024 season. 14 rounds are done and dusted and the Hinwii-based outfit is yet to open its points scoring account. Amidst the ongoing struggles, team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi has insisted that Sauber is getting all the help from Audi.
Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu have pretty much been powerless behind the wheel of the C44 this year. The duo has not been able to make a direct impression on rivals like Alpine, Williams, and Haas, and as a consequence of this, the outfit is plumb last in the Constructors standings.
But, Sauber is still seeing the light at the end of the tunnel because of the backing it is getting from Audi.
There is no concern but of course, there is a tension that we need to do the right step, to change and steer in a positive direction for our [2024] season, but there is good support and some tension. Looking at Bravi’s reaction, it is evident that the atmosphere within the Kick Sauber F1 team is quite tense. The outfit has not met any of its targets and would have ideally wanted to be a bit higher in the standings at the current point of the 2024 season.
Sauber eyeing to deliver ‘better performance’ in the second half
While Audi is giving Sauber the ‘tools’ to salvage their dwindling 2024 campaign, Bravi and Co. are fully determined to put on better showings from Zandvoort onwards. Moreover, the emphasis for them going forward will be on changing the direction with their C44 in the hope of solid outings.
I don't want to say there is a concern, but we know that we need to change the direction and we need to improve our results. We are all together to deliver this better performance.Alessandro Alunni Bravi via the same interview
The 2024 F1 season only has 10 rounds remaining on the calendar. Keeping in view that Sauber is currently last in the standings, all the remaining races will be extremely important for them if they are eyeing a higher finish. Williams is currently in ninth with four points and Alpine is in eighth with 11 points to their name.
