After the Qatar GP, hot waters ensued in the paddock between George Russell and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman and Russell went on a war with words and told their ends of the story. However, this feud has seemingly cooled off for a while as the 26-year-old elucidated that his relationship with Verstappen is now on better terms.
The saga between George Russell and Max Verstappen soon transcended individual boundaries as team principals soon jumped in the playground. With the chaos increasing with every passing day, fans feared that the relationship between Russell and Verstappen could completely deteriorate.
Furthermore, the news of the Briton refusing to sit alongside the Dutchman during the GPDA gala dinner wrecked more havoc. However, soon after, in the GPDA photo of the class 2024 drivers, the pair posed together and showcased the unity of the organization as a whole, which Russell explained.
Russell asked about the GPDA photo: It's got more air time then it deserves (the Max/George drama). We showed that us a group are united. And that was the message we tried to show.

On the other hand, all things have not mended between the two as their off-season plans have seemingly taken a hit. The age-old Mercedes–Red Bull rivalry got reignited in a new form because of Russell and Verstappen’s recent antics.
Max Verstappen reckons his relationship with George Russell will be fine
While Russell emphasized how the drivers remain united, despite their internal feuds, Verstappen resounded a similar statement. Though he had been the one to have been outraged by the 26-year-old’s antics in the stewards’ room, he reckoned that time would heal things.
Subsequently, Verstappen asserted that time off from racing would mellow things down and the issue would sort itself out over the winter break.

On the other hand, the 27-year-old qualified P5 for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tomorrow after lighting up the timing sheets in qualifying. He blamed the RB20’s setup in the final run, which ruined his balance with the car and ultimately resulted in him losing four grid slots.
However, his subpar result would not affect the Austrian giant in the constructors’ standings as McLaren and Ferrari remain the only ones that could fight it out for the title. With the Woking-based squad retaining the bragging rights after locking out the front row.
