The 2016 F1 world champion Nico Rosberg has come up with a tough verdict on Lewis Hamilton‘s upcoming Ferrari stint. The latter has joined the Fred Vasseur-led team from 2025 onwards on a multi-year deal.
Nico Rosberg believes Lewis Hamilton might not be able to match the might of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. He has asserted this while keeping in light the performances the Brit produced against George Russell in 2024.
The 39-year-old was nowhere near Russell in qualifying in the recent campaign.
During the 2024 season, Hamilton finished his campaign in a disappointing seventh place in the drivers’ standings. He managed to amass only 223 points whereas his teammate was able to put on board 245 in the W15. Moreover, the 39-year-old’s qualifying woes could really get exposed in 2025 given he will partner up with the super-fast Charles Lecerc at Ferrari.
Would Lewis Hamilton be able to find his lost mojo at Ferrari?
Lewis Hamilton has been in a rut in the ground-effect era. This has been because of a plethora of reasons. From Mercedes producing timid challengers to Hamilton finding it hard to put it through the absolute wringer, the 39-year-old has had a tough time.
However, despite this, Nico Rosberg has hoped that Hamilton could find his mojo at Ferrari.
The window on Hamilton’ F1 career is closing at the rate of knots. His new deal with Ferrari could prove to be his last in the sport given he is the second-oldest driver on the grid.
Going into 2025, the seven-time world champion has many doubters and considering this, it will be fascinting to see how he will perform at Ferrari. The well-known Tifosi fanbase will have huge expectations from the F1 legend.
