Nick Kyrgios is all set to make his return at the Brisbane International next year and on Monday (December 16), the Aussie took to Instagram to announce he will be teaming up with Novak Djokovic for doubles in the tournament. Both Kyrgios and Djokovic will kick start their campaign in 2025 at the Brisbane International.
The Brisbane International is scheduled to start on December 29 and will be wrapped up on January 5. Last week, Kyrgios teased the fans about exciting news involving Djokovic when he was asked to comment on the Serb.
The Aussie it seems has announced the stunning news. On Instagram, he shared a picture from the 2022 Wimbledon final (which he lost in four sets) and captioned the post with: “Doubles at Brisbane. See y’ll there.“

This is the second time Djokovic stunned the tennis community in recent times with announcements (though this time not by him). Last month, he created quite a stir in the tennis world by announcing he will be coached by Andy Murray.
Kyrgios will be participating in the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane to have some match practice before the Australian Open. It will be his first match since the 2023 Stuttgart Open as multiple injuries forced him to waste almost two years on the sidelines.
Djokovic, who was slamless in 2024, will be fighting for his historic 25th title in Melbourne under new coach Murray. The World No. 7 hasn’t played an official match since his defeat to World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the Shanghai Masters final.
Thanasi Kokkinakis says Nick Kyrgios is a dangerous threat
Thanasi Kokkinakis appeared to confirm that he would join forces with Nick Kyrgios to play doubles at the Australian Open. The pair have lifted the Australian Open in 2022, the only Major both have won.
Kokkinakis has admitted that singles will be their ‘priority‘ in Melbourne but both he and Kyrgios feel like they ‘owe it to people‘ by joining hands and chasing the title again. The 28-year-old also lauded Kyrgios and said his return to court is ‘great for tennis’ in Australia.
Kokkinakis, in Grand Slam singles, has never progressed to the fourth round. At the Australian Open, he reached the second round five times.
