Emma Raducanu was outside of the top 300 when she returned to court following a long injury layoff. But the youngster worked her way to be a part of the top 60 and for this, Raducanu takes pride in herself.
Raducanu is no stranger to injuries which have hindered her from winning more trophies than her historic 2021 US Open. Last season, she had surgeries on her left ankle and both wrists and was a World No. 303 in April this season.
Raducanu started climbing up in the rankings table during her campaign on the grass swing. She reached the semifinal in Nottingham and the quarterfinals in Eastbourne. At Wimbledon, she advanced to the quarterfinals.
The former World No. 10 played just 33 matches in 2024 and had a 21/13 win-loss record. Even though she had decided to add more tournaments to her schedule following her first-round exit at the US Open, she could participate in just the Korea Open on the Asian swing.
The 22-year-old injured her foot during the quarterfinal of the Korea Open and could play no further until the Billie Jean Kings Cup in Malaga in November.
Emma Raducanu is confident of having good results while working with Yutaka Nakamura
Emma Raducanu, to work on her fitness problems, has hired fitness coach Yutaka Nakamura, who used to be Maria Sharapova and Naomi Osaka‘s team. Raducanu is confident that having Nakamura would help her have an injury-free season in 2025.
The Brit has had so many coaches but she fired them all due to disappointing results. She then reunited with childhood mentor Cavaday before the 2024 Australian Open and he will continue to be a part of her team.
