Aryna Sabalenka enjoyed the best season of her career in 2024. The Belarusian finished the year as World No.1 for the first time and was the only women’s player to win two Grand Slam titles. For this splendid year, she has credited her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, for the impact of her performances on the court throughout the year.
Sabalenka confirmed her relationship with Frangulis in May this year and he has been with her on tour this season. The 35-year-old businessman is the founder and CEO of Oakberry Food Company. He loves Formula 1 and has taken Sabalenka to the Grand Prix in Italy and, recently, the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
Additionally, he has traveled with the Belarusian for the majority of the season and is even part of her team. With the support of Frangulis, Sabalenka achieved an impressive 56-14 win-loss record this season. The 26-year-old also overtook Iga Swiatek in October to become the World No.1 and ended the season in that position for the first time in her career.
However, Sabalenka experienced a difficult spell earlier in the year, after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov. With the help of Frangulis, she was able to overcome the situation and play her best tennis. In a recent interview, she credited him for his impact in her on-court displays this year.
After a dominant season, Sabalenka was recently awarded the WTA Player of the Year for the first time in her career. The 26-year-old is hoping to carry on with her form into the 2025 season.
Aryna Sabalenka shares video of her preparation for the 2025 season
Aryna Sabalenka is certainly enjoying her off-season. She was seen with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. However, apart from the break from the tennis action, she’s also looking forward to the 2025 season. The Belarusian is keen to make sure she consolidates her World No.1 position and wins titles.
In a recent video Sabalenka shared on Instagram, during her vacation in Dubai, she was also training on the court. The Belarusian began her day with a nutritious breakfast and fresh juice before hitting the practice court for an intense training. She then rested for a while and returned for practice in the evening.
Sabalenka is scheduled to open her 2025 season with Brisbane International, which begins on December 29. The 26-year-old finished as runners-up in the event last year after losing to Elena Rybakina in the final.
