Rennae Stubbs explained how Carlos Alcaraz can achieve a Career Grand Slam next year. Alcaraz, at 21, has won four Majors already (two consecutive Wimbledon, one French Open, and one US Open).
The Murcia-born however is yet to win the Australian Open, and Stubbs has backed him to complete the Career Grand Slam next year. But to do that, Stubbs pointed out two areas where he needs improvement so that he can challenge players like Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev.
Stubbs thinks Alcaraz’s height could pose problems she advised him to play a bit like 20-time major champion Roger Federer who is 6′ 1″ tall.
Stubbs also thinks on fast courts at the Australian Open and the US Open, Alcaraz needs more accuracy with his first serve and improve his shot selection.
Mats Wilander predicts who will win more Majors next year between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz shared the four Majors of 2024 between them. Sinner emerged victorious at the Australian Open and the US Open, while Alcaraz completed the Channel Slam by winning the French Open and the Wimbledon. Both will be eyeing to extend their tallies next year but Mats Wilander predicted that Sinner will win more than Alcaraz.
Alcaraz, though he won two Grand Slam titles in 2024, wasn’t consistent throughout the year. He clinched four titles, half of what Sinner won.
The Italian started the season on the ATP Tour with his win in Melbourne and ended by winning the ATP Finals, not to forget Italy’s Davis Cup win. But his career could hit a roadblock if the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decides to ban him due to his doping case.
