The ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor is arguably one of the biggest superstars in the UFC. However, he has recently encountered significant setbacks following a civil case verdict against him. In light of this situation, former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has shared his thoughts. He even expressed disbelief regarding the victim’s statement about the entire incident.
Conor McGregor was found liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in 2018. Interestingly, according to the victim’s statement, the Irishman referenced his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in the middle of the incident. In a recent podcast episode, Sean O’Malley discussed this with his coach, Tim Welch, and former UFC fighter Jake Shields, noting that no fighter would ever talk about their losses to a random individual.
Interestingly, aside from O’Malley, several other prominent figures in the UFC community have expressed their reactions to the situation. However, unlike the Montana native, most of these individuals have offered critical assessments of McGregor’s recent civil case. For example, Islam Makhachev harshly criticized the Irishman.
đSean OâMalley, Tim Welch, and Jake Shields weigh in on the Conor McGregor civil case, all raising doubts about the womanâs accusations. Theyâre especially skeptical of her claim that McGregor said, âThis is how I felt when Khabib was choking meâ:

Regarding McGregor, in addition to facing monetary damages, the Irishman also suffered significant harm to his reputation. Despite this, the UFC superstar has hinted at a possible boxing match against Logan Paul. Now, it will be interesting to see how the situation surrounding McGregor develops in the coming months.
When Sean O’Malley asserted confidence in beating Conor McGregor
There is no denying that Conor McGregor has been an exceptional athlete throughout his MMA career. As a result, the Irishman has even become an inspiration for many budding MMA fighters. Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley is one notable name on that list. However, while both McGregor and O’Malley once shared a great camaraderie, their relationship has since soured, leading to notable animosity between them.
Both McGregor and O’Malley have engaged in a lengthy back-and-forth exchange, a recent while ago. The Irishman, in particular, made steroid accusations against the Montana native. In response, O’Malley also took shots at McGregor. This led to both fighters expressing interest in a potential matchup, with the former UFC bantamweight champion confidently asserting his belief that he could defeat the Irishman.

However, the fight never took place. Recently, O’Malley experienced defeat at the hands of Merab Dvalishvili during the Noche UFC event (UFC 306). In contrast, McGregorâs last fight in the UFC was against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. It has been over three years since the ‘Notorious’ has competed in the promotion.
