Jon Jones is arguably the GOAT of the UFC. The current heavyweight champion is at his last stint as a professional fighter. At the age of 37, ‘Bones’ is already thinking about the next chapter of his life. As it turns out, the American fighter is heavily inspired by Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson

After his last win, Jon Jones revealed that he would like to retire as soon as possible. Recently, the fighter collaborated with a YouTuber and gave an interview inside a Buggati Chiron. The viral video got millions of views and during the conversation, Jones talked about his appreciation towards Dwayne Johnson. 

I really respect Dwyane Johnson. Just because we come from a similar kind of a world. What he’s done transitioning into…one of the biggest Hollywood movie star. Man, I would like to do that…One of my biggest goals now is to get into acting.

Johnson started his career as a WWE wrestler and spent years developing his fan following before making his Hollywood debut. Since then, he has been a part of several successful movies and become one of the highest-paid actors. Jones recently worked on his first Netflix project and was excited to share that news.

Jones is well aware of the risks involved in fighting and wants to leave the sport before it leaves him. He has publicly spoken about not getting chewed and thrown out by the promotion he works for. Given his stature and fan following, it won’t be surprising to see him landing more acting gigs in the future.

How did Jon Jones get his nickname ‘Bones’?

Jon Jones is a legendary UFC fighter, widely regarded as the most skilled fighter in the history of MMA. A two-time light heavyweight champion and current heavyweight champion, Jones boasts an unparalleled resume. He has dominating victories over legends like Daniel Cormier, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Rashad Evans, and Vitor Belfort among others.

Known for his versatile striking and elite grappling, Jones holds the record for most title fight wins in UFC history. Jones is popularly known as ‘Bones’, a nickname that has been there for a long time. In a recent interview, the fighter talked about how he got it. 

It came from high school. I was the same height that I’m now but I weighed around 170 lbs. I was a tall, skinny guy…I had these little tiny chicken legs. People would just start calling me ‘Boney.’ I kept the nickname.

Jones is currently the biggest active superstar of UFC and he proved that in his last outing at UFC 309. Now, fans want to see him fight Tom Aspinall in a heavyweight title unification bout. However, Jones is not ready for it yet. According to Aspinall, the champion is taking his time and forcing UFC to pay him more to sign that fight.
