The holiday season came extra fulfilling and early for some. Brazilian Alice Pereira lobbied for the attention of UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard and UFC CEO Dana White. Just before Christmas, her campaign and wish to join up was granted.
The surname “Pereira” has already been a reckoning in the UFC roster. There is also a plethora of Brazilian martial artists who are a whole other breed. The promotion signed Alice Pereira (6-0), born December 2005, who turned 19 just four days ago, to its women’s bantamweight roster.
Dana White took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share a video of Maynard calling Pereira to give her the news of the contract. The Brazilian was overcome with emotion and said she wanted to thank the UFC matchmaker Maynard.
Alice Pereira made her MMA debut in August 2023 and has earned five of her six career victories to date. This includes a 11-second knockout finish in July. The “Golden Girl” defeated former ONE Championship title challenger Samara Santos on December 14.

Ladies you have a Alex Pereira https://t.co/jYJZ7PFeAA
Afterward, she campaigned for Maynard to sign her, wearing a T-shirt with his name and her stout resume. During his Contender Series shtick, promotional CEO Dana White has often said that actively chasing or fulfilling that elusive KO gets one in. As does attitude and showmanship; the newest Pereira in the ranks showcased both with her active campaign. Hence, Santa didn’t disappoint.
Who is Alice in the MMA Wonderland?
The Brazilian has already amassed a pro MMA record of 6-0 at the age of just 19. The obvious assumption would be that such a dominant star must be a sister of Alex Pereira’s. However, this is not the case.
‘Poatan’ does have a sister who competes in MMA; it’s Aline Pereira. Aline has fought in promotions such as Glory, Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), and made her MMA debut on 18 November 2022.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Alice Pereira made her MMA debut in August last year. She scored a dominant victory by submitting Raquel de Andrade with a rear-naked choke in her debut fight. Since then, she has had 5 more victories, one of which was a 11-second stoppage victory.
At Cage Masters 2, Alice Pereira logged in another dominant performance. Post-fight, she wore a shirt saying “Micki, six fights, six wins. Look at me; I deserve it. I promise you all.” Showmanship to its finest. That’s not something the UFC matchmaker could ignore.
Someone like Maria Alice Lima Pereira would usually find herself in the Contender Series. But Dana White and brass saw something that warrants her a main roster spot early on. A date or opponent for Pereira is not final yet. The hope is that she debuts soon under the banner. For now, the sky’s the limit.
