UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan billed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted to come on his popular podcast ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. However, Rogan implied he was skeptical about the idea after the Wladimir Klitschko sting.

The remark comes after Joe Rogan caused controversy by suggesting that Zelenskyy was part of a group that was “about to start World War III.” The veteran podcaster even dropped an ‘F’ bomb on the Ukrainian leader and drew a reaction from Wladimir Klitschko. Now, he tells podcast co-hosts Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, and Ari Shaffir that he refused hosting duties.

[Volodymyr] Zelenskyy tried to come on. Yeah, they tried to get Zelenskyy to on, I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ …

Russian troops began invading Ukraine on 22 February 2022. It sparked the war which the Wall Street Journal estimated in September had left one million dead or wounded. Joe Rogan had viral takes on the matter and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also dispelled rumors of Russia instigating war stateside. Zelenskyy has long pleaded for permission to use US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems to attack Russia.

Rogan reported that per Alex Jones, President-Elect Donald Trump is holding special sanctions about the matter at Mar-a-Lago. He hosted the three-time Republican candidate and pre-election GOP Nominee on the ‘JRE’ Show #2219. This was before he eventually endorsed him during the electoral eve.

Since then, Rogan has been keeping a keen eye on how the 47th President handles global matters in his last term. Other than Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko wanting to settle differences, Rogan has always been up-stuck against political involvement.

The un-political ‘Joe Rogan’ experience

Joe Rogan almost knows it all, and does it all. However, the 57-year-old is an apolitical beast. It’s something he has in common with UFC boss Dana White. Log some minutes into “In Search of Excellence” Podcast Episode 112 and so on, and one finds just how democratic and settled White used to be.

Joe Rogan is the same, although he keeps a vigilante eye out. This isn’t the first time Rogan has claimed to turn down a high-ranking politician asking to appear on his podcast. Back in 2021, the UFC color commentator appeared on ‘Breaking Points‘ podcast hosted by political commentators Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti.

Rogan’s reasoning was that he had no support for the two prominent US presidential candidates at the time. He singled out Trump and turned down a request from him to be a guest on his podcast. That turned out quite a different way though.

For this reason, he also refused to host Joe Biden on the podcast. He ran against Trump as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. He eventually won the 2020 US election before Rogan’s expose. However, to this day, the veteran podcaster sidelines himself from anything other than political tidbits and commentary,
