Amidst rumors of Jimmy Butler leaving, Tyler Herro rises to occasion and takes charge of Miami Heat
Miami Heat star Tyler Herro has stepped up for his side with monstrous performances in the absence of his teammate Jimmy Butler.
Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler
Although the Miami Heat are dealing with trade rumors involving Jimmy Butler, it’s crucial to remember that they are now enjoying success because of the rise of star Tyler Herro. If selected, the guard may be headed for his first All-Star selection since he is still developing into a complete player this season.
Herro has single-handedly carried the Heat in crucial games this season. He most recently finished an incredible week in which he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This came on the back of his outstanding work in the victories over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Lakers.
Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald reported that Herro felt he was “definitely worthy” when asked if he would be considered for an All-Star. Herro dropped 31 points on the Lakers on December 4. He then scored 17 points against the Suns.
Herro followed it up by scoring 34 points against the Cavs. He scored 23 points against the Toronto Raptors in his most recent matchup and it looks like there is no stopping the Heat star right now. With Butler’s future seemingly unclear, Herro has emerged as the new star for the Heat.

Herro has already set career highs this season. He averages 24.2 points (leading the team), 5.4 rebounds, and five assists per game. He is also shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from outside the arc.
Since the team has prioritized shots from deep and near the rim, his shot graph has been very different. Up next for Herro and the Heat are the Detroit Pistons on December 16.
Tyler Herro wants to be an ‘All-Star’
Ahead of the Miami Heat’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors, all eyes were on their star player Tyler Herro, who has been performing exceptionally for the team this season. With fans and many NBA experts calling for him to be included as an ‘All-Star,‘ Herro addressed the topic recently.

Herro will turn 25 on January 2. He is one of just two players in the league who started Thursday with a minimum of 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
The Wisconsin native also shot at least 40% from beyond the arc and at least 45% from the field. Three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is the only other player in the league who presently meets those standards.
