The Golden State Warriors secured a crucial 114-106 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, snapping out of a six-loss slump in their last seven games. While Stephen Curry led the way with 30 points, eight assists, and four rebounds, the game’s most talked-about moment came courtesy of Draymond Green. Everyone had an opinion on the viral celebration including Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
As the game drew to a close late in the fourth quarter, Draymond Green delivered a thunderous dunk over Rudy Gobert, sealing the Warriors’ victory and celebrating with Curry’s signature “Night-Night” gesture. Green sprinted back up the court after the slam, imitating Curry’s iconic celebration. Following the game, Steve Kerr revealed his thoughts on Green’s near-perfect imitation.

Green’s fiery history with Gobert has always added an extra edge to their matchups. Their rivalry escalated last year when Green put Gobert in a chokehold during a skirmish, earning himself a suspension. This game was no exception, as Green’s energy and determination were palpable throughout.
Late in the game, he ran a cleverly inverted pick-and-roll with Curry, freeing himself for a stunning dunk that ignited the home crowd, leading to his celebration which prompted the much-discussed ‘Night Night’ celly from Green. He finished with modest stats on paper but played a crucial role in the Warriors’ improved defense and energy.

Draymond Green’s celebration became a talking point all over the internet and especially in the Warriors’ locker room postgame. Apart from Steve Kerr, Warriors superstar and the originator of the ‘Night Night’ celebration Stephen Curry offered his own take.

The dynamic between Green and Curry has always been a cornerstone of the Warriors’ success. Their ability to support and challenge each other on and off the court has fostered a culture of mutual respect and camaraderie, which was evident as Green picked up his teammate’s celebration with no hesitation.
The Warriors’ win over the Timberwolves might be the turning point they’ve been waiting for. After losing to the Timberwolves in their previous outing, the Dubs bounced back with a statement win, in the absence of Andrew Wiggins on the back of the performances of stars like Curry, Green, and Buddy Hield. They now gear up to face a disgruntled Houston Rockets squad for Tuesday’s NBA Cup Quarterfinals.
