Russell Westbrook and Nikola Jokic
The Brooklyn Nets vs. Denver Nuggets matchup on Tuesday night proved to be one of the most exciting games since the start of the new NBA season. The Nuggets saw out a thrilling win in a nail-biting matchup, winning 144-139 in overtime. The Nuggets star man Nikola Jokic, along with new addition Russell Westbrook, helped their side in a much-needed win.
Jokic, as usual, put him astronomical numbers against the Nets and also etched his name in a piece of NBA history. He became just the second player in league history to record 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists in a single game. With every season, Jokic tends to break old records and create new ones
In addition, for the Nuggets, Russell Westbrook contributed 22 points. Meanwhile, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray each scored 24 points. Westbrook’s performance will come as a relief after receiving recent hate from the NBA fans for his poor showing in his previous two matchups. The NBA star previously stated that he is ready to embrace the ‘hate’ coming towards him.

The Nets stars also performed brilliantly but fell to a better Nuggets side. Cam Thomas finished the game with 26 points and three assists, while Dennis Schroder finished with 28 points and 14 assists. In what was possibly the best game of his early career, Ziaire Williams scored 18 points off the bench and Cam Johnson added 20 points.
Nikola Jokic recently shared his honest take on teammate Russell Westbrook
Nikola Jokic recently made news with remarks about his team’s newest member. Jokic was gushing over his new colleague, Russell Westbrook, who the Nuggets signed for the 2024–25 NBA season from the Los Angeles Clippers.
During his media appearance a few weeks ago, Jokic discussed Westbrook’s arrival and gave him high marks for his behavior and mindset on the floor. However, “The Joker” also acknowledged that their past experiences as rivals had caused them to have difficult moments.
In addition to Jokic, Westbrook’s defensive skills were commended by Nuggets head coach Michael Malone. In this area, Westbrook excelled the previous season and can continue to do so for his new team in the 2024–25 NBA season.
